Senior Principal Engineer (Hardware Design)

What you will do

• Own the complete hardware design lifecycle for next-generation network security appliances, from requirements and architecture through production and sustaining engineering.
• Design complex multi-layer PCBs, schematics, high-speed interfaces, power distribution systems, and controlled-impedance stack-ups.
• Lead prototyping, characterization, functional testing, design validation, root cause analysis, and production release activities.
• Create engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, test plans, ECOs, validation procedures, and manufacturing packages.
• Support contract manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors during component qualification, prototype builds, production, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with CAD, firmware, software, and engineering leadership teams on layout optimization, board bring-up, debugging, and system integration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hardware design experience focused on networking, embedded, or security appliances, or equivalent experience based on education.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Expertise in CPU/SoC-based designs, DDR memory, Ethernet PHYs and magnetics, PCIe, SATA, USB, SPI, power integrity, EMI/EMC, ESD, surge protection, and signal integrity.
• Experience designing networking or security appliances from concept through production, including 10G/25G/100G Ethernet, IEEE 802.3, wireless technologies, and IEEE 802.11.
• Knowledge of TPMs, TRNGs, secure boot architectures, DFM, DVT, manufacturing processes, and high-volume product development.
• Proficiency with Cadence CIS and Allegro, laboratory equipment, DVT interpretation, yield analysis, and complex hardware debugging.

Nice to have

• Experience developing enterprise networking, cybersecurity, firewall, SD-WAN, or security appliance products.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex networking platforms through production release.
