Software Engineer II, Backend (Batch Developer Experience)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base pay: $146,000–$225,000 per year, depending on U.S. state, experience, and job-related skills.

What you will do

• Build tools and systems that streamline batch development and testing workflows.
• Break larger projects into phased deliverables and collaborate with product and infrastructure engineers.
• Partner with product management, design, and analytics to evaluate technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
• Create and monitor operational metrics, support service availability, and participate in on-call efforts.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews, debugging, interviews, and team development activities.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design solutions spanning multiple software components and write clear, tested, extensible code.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
