SharePoint Architect (Microsoft 365)

What you will do

• Lead enterprise SharePoint migrations from on-premises SharePoint, tenant-to-tenant environments, file shares, and third-party platforms into SharePoint Online.
• Define migration strategies covering discovery, baselines, data validation, permissions and identity mapping, metadata, batching, pilots, testing, reconciliation, and cutover governance.
• Design SharePoint architecture, including sites, libraries, hub sites, permissions models, managed metadata, content types, navigation, and governance controls.
• Assess data estates, ownership, permissions, information architecture, governance, migration readiness, and Copilot readiness, then produce prioritised roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership across migration planning, pilots, migration waves, issue resolution, cutover, handover, and technical assurance.
• Support pre-sales through discovery, workshops, solution shaping, estimation, proposals, and Statements of Work.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale SharePoint migrations across on-premises, tenant-to-tenant, file share, and third-party platforms such as Dropbox or Box.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, permissions, libraries, metadata, content types, hub sites, sharing, and governance.
• Hands-on experience with ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, TreeSize, or similar migration and assessment tools.
• Experience with migration baselines, user and permission mapping, migration pilots and batches, acceptance thresholds, evidence review, and reconciliation.
• Ability to create migration plans, runbook controls, risk and dependency assessments, customer actions, estimates, assumptions, exclusions, and commercially sound Statements of Work.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions and migration constraints to IT, security, compliance, and business stakeholders.

• Experience assessing data quality, ownership, sharing, retention, and governance controls.
• Experience advising on SharePoint Advanced Management for secure Copilot and AI adoption.
