Credit Operations Lead (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead, coach and develop the Credit Operations team, setting objectives and managing performance against KPIs.
• Oversee client margin calls, account settlements, close-out activity, credit exposure, credit facilities and limits.
• Manage client categorisation, debt recovery, repayment arrangements, escalations and write-off recommendations.
• Own first-line risk controls, including risk monitoring, issue remediation, procedures and process documentation.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex credit, margin and account queries and complaints.
• Produce management information, support audits and regulatory requests, and deliver process improvement, automation and technology change.

Requirements

• Proven experience in credit operations, credit risk, margin or client operations within financial services.
• Experience leading, managing or supervising a team and developing people.
• Strong understanding of margin and credit risk concepts and working knowledge of FCA requirements, client categorisation and Consumer Duty.
• Experience operating and evidencing first-line controls and supporting audit or regulatory reviews.
• Strong communication, analytical, decision-making and organisational skills, including the ability to handle difficult client conversations.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively in fast-moving markets.

Nice to have

• Degree-level education or a relevant professional qualification such as the CISI Investment Operations Certificate.
• Experience with debt recovery or collections, process improvement, automation or change delivery.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data or reporting tools.
