Operations Engineer (FTC)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with four days in the office each week. The role includes a shift rotation after initial training, with possible late finishes, weekend work, and public or bank holiday coverage.

Base salary: GBP 36,300–48,766.66 per year. Target bonus: 5% annually.

What you will do

• Provide first- and second-line operational support for business-critical Market Data applications across London and Mumbai.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, escalating complex or high-risk incidents when required.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility across the application stack and infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure, and validate software changes through established change and release processes.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and collaborate with development teams, vendors, and operational partners.
• Maintain operational documentation and participate in the support rota and related training.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in technical operations, production support, or an SRE-aligned role supporting live business-critical systems.
• Strong experience with Windows Server environments and Wintel infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and common protocols.
• Practical scripting or automation experience with PowerShell and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk or New Relic.
• Exposure to CI/CD, infrastructure, deployment, and cloud tooling, including GitHub, Bitbucket, Terraform, Kubernetes, Harness, AWS, or comparable technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting financial services or market data platforms.
• Experience with AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
