Software Development Engineer in Test (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Perform end-to-end testing of software, preferably across storage systems and HPC environments.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• Identify automation opportunities and drive development of automated test suites and frameworks.
• Design, review, and maintain test plans, test cases, functional specifications, and QA documentation.
• Collaborate with developers on black-box testing strategies and validate product quality through continuous testing.
• Identify regression coverage for code changes between builds and troubleshoot system issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• 4–6 years of experience in software quality engineering, including at least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven quality assurance experience with storage systems and knowledge of filesystems, RAID, tiered storage, and data movement or management technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, HPC storage systems, and at least one automation framework such as pytest.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker or other container technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience designing automated functional and system testing.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of parallel filesystems such as Lustre or GPFS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
