Manager, Software Engineering (C++)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a small team of staff software engineers.
• Recruit engineers and support onboarding, performance, career growth, and technical leadership development.
• Partner with engineering and product leaders to set priorities and connect technical work to developer and player outcomes.
• Guide the technical direction and delivery of Unreal Engine-based core technology.
• Build reusable solutions and partnerships across Riot teams while maintaining reliability, maintainability, and clear technical ownership.
• Contribute hands-on through prototyping, tooling, and engineering improvements outside the critical delivery path.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading engineers.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical lead role.
• Experience recruiting candidates and growing an engineering team.
• Experience shipping products on large codebases spanning multiple platforms and tools.
• Experience with C++, game development teams, game engines, and exposure to Unreal Engine.
