TL;DR
Tech Lead Manager (Experience Platform) (Dart/JavaScript/Flutter/Rust/WebGL): Building and leading an engineering team responsible for scalable user experiences, shared platform capabilities, and 3D visualisation of large electricity-grid models with an accent on performance, design systems, and complex expert-user workflows. Focus on designing data-intensive systems, rendering millions of objects responsively, and delivering polished browser-based tools for utility network analysis.
Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid. Current and unrestricted Australian working rights are required; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, supporting technical development and career progression.
- Own delivery for the Experience Platform, including goals, milestones, development practices, and sustainable execution.
- Stay hands-on with system design, architecture, production code, and performance-critical data-intensive components.
- Shape the UI, design system, rendering performance, and 3D visualisation of large electricity-grid networks.
- Build APIs, extension points, shared components, and end-user features used by internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Customer Success, Sales, and other engineering leaders.
Requirements
- Experience leading, mentoring, and growing engineers while owning delivery and technical outcomes end to end.
- Strong record of architecting and shipping complex, production-grade systems with sound technical trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience with Dart, JavaScript, Flutter, Rust, WebGL, or related client, graphics, and rendering technologies.
- Experience building expert-user tools such as CAD, GIS, IDEs, design tools, or advanced data visualisation products.
- Experience owning a design system, component library, or platform SDK used by other teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with graphics, GPU work, or rendering large 3D scenes in a browser or desktop client.
- Background in consumer products, geospatial systems, utilities, energy, simulation, physics, or real-world modelling.
- Strong mathematical reasoning or a mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering background.
