TL;DR
Manager, Systems & Software (Defence Simulation): Leading software and hardware engineering delivery for complex defence and simulation programs with an accent on team leadership, systems architecture, quality, schedules, and budgets. Focus on managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, solving delivery and risk challenges, and aligning mission-critical capabilities with global engineering standards.
Location: Homebush, NSW, Australia; work from the Homebush site is required

What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 16 software and hardware engineers.
- Plan, monitor, and oversee engineering activities across projects, services, and bids.
- Ensure engineering solutions align with system architecture, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
- Partner with engineering, project, and business stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
- Manage delivery risks, team performance, resources, schedules, budgets, and continuous improvement.
- Align regional engineering outcomes with ’s global engineering organisation and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant engineering experience and previous leadership of technical teams.
- Experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, or complex systems development environments.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership skills.
- Australian Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance are required.
- Ability to work from the Homebush, NSW site is required.
Nice to have
- Experience in defence, aerospace, simulation, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary software and hardware engineering teams.
- Knowledge of complex simulation systems and software development practices.
- Engineers Australia membership.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed engineering teams.
