Senior Producer/Editor – “Preditor” (Social Media/Short Form)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; candidates must live within commuting distance of the Washington, D.C. office and work onsite four days per week.

Salary: $141,300–$189,400 per year, plus potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units.

What you will do

• Produce, edit, and deliver short-form social media content across National Geographic platforms.
• Develop original concepts, creative decks, high-priority brand content, and campaign ideas for senior leaders and partners.
• Lead shoots, coordinate crews and external vendors, direct on-camera talent, and occasionally operate as the primary camera on remote assignments.
• Collaborate with editorial, video, marketing, audio, engineering, content operations, and field production teams.
• Use audience analytics and platform insights to optimize content performance, reach, and engagement.
• Perform quality control, technical adjustments, media conversions, file optimization, archiving, and delivery for different platforms.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with short-form nonlinear editing across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Dolby 5.1 audio.
• Experience producing high-priority brand content from concept development through final delivery.
• Strong short-form storytelling, editorial judgment, and knowledge of current editing-platform capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be able to work onsite four days per week in Washington, D.C., while living within commuting distance of the office.
