AEO Content Strategist (AI Search)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Base salary: $105,000–$145,000 USD per year, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the blog, editorial content plan, and publishing calendar for SEO and AEO.
• Structure and publish accurate product content in Contentful, including launches and seasonal campaigns.
• Improve conversion through inline calls to action, email capture, conversion paths, and CRO testing.
• Manage AirOps and automate content drafting, optimization, disclosures, and CMS publishing workflows.
• Lead affiliate and publisher relationships, offsite visibility, citation placements, and the AI visibility budget.
• Coordinate Legal & Compliance and partner bank reviews while tracking citations, rankings, traffic, visibility, and enrollments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in editorial strategy, content strategy, or SEO content with measurable organic growth results.
• Hands-on knowledge of AEO/GEO, LLM citation behavior, AI answer engines, content structure, and third-party coverage.
• Experience with AI content tools and workflows such as AirOps, Profound, or LLM-based writing and optimization tools.
• Experience publishing in a regulated industry such as financial services, fintech, insurance, or healthcare, including legal and compliance review.
• Hands-on CMS experience, preferably Contentful, plus Jira or similar ticket-based workflows.
• Strong writing, editing, data analysis, stakeholder management, and external partner management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or publisher partners across timelines, quality, and budgets.
• Experience working with AI-powered content optimization platforms and automating repetitive workflows.
