DevSecOps Cloud Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Provision and operate Development, Test, Pre-Production, and Production cloud and Databricks environments using infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• Build DevSecOps delivery pipelines covering infrastructure validation, testing, security scanning, approvals, deployment promotion, and rollback.
• Implement identity, networking, encryption, secrets management, access controls, logging, monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and operational telemetry.
• Support FedRAMP authorization activities, technical control implementation, security evidence collection, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring.
• Implement and test backup, restoration, failover, disaster recovery, resilience, and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with architects, software and data engineers, cybersecurity personnel, quality engineers, and VA stakeholders during Agile delivery.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
• Production cloud infrastructure experience with Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code platform, plus Linux administration and cloud networking, IAM, encryption, secrets, storage, and compute troubleshooting.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and integrating application, dependency, secrets, infrastructure, container or artifact, and vulnerability scanning.
• Experience with centralized logging, metrics, dashboards, alerts, incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and change management.
• Working knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, vulnerability management, configuration management, and continuous monitoring.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and ability to obtain and maintain the required U.S. VA Public Trust suitability determination.

Nice to have

• Databricks workspace administration, including compute policies, Unity Catalog permissions, audit logs, secrets, networking, and autoscaling.
• AWS or Azure cloud operations experience in a federal environment.
• Experience with FedRAMP or agency authorization evidence, VA security requirements, PIV authentication, IPv6, Trusted Internet Connection 3.0, and Zero Trust.
• Experience with SIEM integration, security-event investigations, resilience testing, Delta Lake, Parquet, Spark, streaming, or lakehouse platforms.
• Relevant AWS, Azure, Databricks, HashiCorp, Security+, CISSP, or Scaled Agile certifications or experience.
