Super Day - Data Engineering Internship (Fintech)

Location: 100% onsite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The Super Day hiring event takes place at hirify.global HQ in Philadelphia on November 13; attendance is invite-only.

Hourly compensation is provided.

hirify.global is a certified B Corp and growth-stage fintech startup building financial, credit, and e-commerce products for consumers with subprime credit.

What you will do

• Build data pipelines and contribute to tools and infrastructure for analyzing large volumes of data.
• Work on real data warehousing problems involving the warehouse, orchestration layer, and operational data pipelines.
• Learn and contribute to systems using AWS, Redshift, Glue, ECS, DMS, Fivetran, Airflow, DataHub, Terraform, Python, and SQL.
• Support focus areas including real-time event ingestion, risk decisioning redesign, AI-agent data access, ERP/EDI standardization, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Commerce, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
• Ship and present a pipeline, tool, or infrastructure improvement used by the team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical discipline, with expected graduation between winter 2027 and summer 2028.
• Experience using SQL to acquire and transform data.
• Experience with databases or data warehouse operations.
• Exposure to third-party APIs.
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language, preferably Python.
• Must be available for onsite work in Philadelphia and attend the invite-only Super Day hiring event if selected.

Nice to have

• Previous technical work experience.
• Exposure to open-source data tooling and cloud computing systems.
• Understanding of data types and storage paradigms.
