Compliance Senior Manager - Malta (Fintech)

Location: Malta; hybrid working with flexible hours.

Salary: €60,000–€100,000 EUR per year, based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Oversee regulatory compliance for the Malta Electronic Money Institution and Crypto-Asset Service Provider within the second line of defence.
• Draft regulatory notifications, responses, thematic review submissions, gap analyses, compliance reports, and Board or committee materials for the MFSA and CBM.
• Maintain the regulatory compliance calendar, conduct horizon scanning, coordinate policy updates, and oversee the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan.
• Assess regulatory breaches, new products, operational changes, crypto assets, financial promotions, personal account trading, and insider register requirements.
• Review complaints handling, capital adequacy, operational resilience, business continuity, outsourcing, and third-party compliance arrangements.
• Deliver compliance training and act as a subject matter expert for internal teams on day-to-day regulatory questions.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in a similar compliance role within financial services, preferably in fintech or crypto.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of MFSA Financial and CASP Rules and Handbooks, EMD, and PSD2.
• Awareness of PSD3 and PSR transitional provisions, with the ability to rapidly learn new regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of MiCA, DORA, payment services, client asset safeguarding, and conduct of business requirements is relevant to the role.
