Microbiology Lab Technician

Location: Iowa City Plant, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Starting pay: $33.78 per hour

What you will do

• Perform raw material and finished product conventional microbiology testing.
• Conduct RO/DI water sampling and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain quality systems, laboratory records, data integrity, and performance tracking.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and clean basic and automated laboratory equipment.
• Support continuous improvement, loss elimination, and root cause problem solving.
• Work with laboratory, quality assurance, manufacturing, and other organizational teams.

Requirements

• College training in Biology or Microbiology; a BS is preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
• Practical laboratory skills and strong aseptic technique.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and communication skills are required for procedures and reports.
• Computer skills, including file and directory creation, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends when required; the role involves standing, climbing, bending, and working on concrete floors.
