Salary: $145,000 - $180,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and mature thermal architectures using passive and active thermal control techniques.
• Perform thermal analysis on various spacecraft hardware components.
• Design, procure, and test thermal solutions including heaters, heat pipes, and coatings.
• Develop integration and assembly processes to meet thermal design intent.
• Plan and conduct thermal vacuum testing at component and spacecraft levels.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in recruiting new team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or physics.
• 6+ years of experience in thermal or mechanical engineering roles.
• Experience in thermal analysis and thermally-constrained design; computational thermal design preferred.
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD software.
• Passion for hardware development and hands-on design in fast-paced environments.
• Must have U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status due to export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Thermal Desktop software.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical or ANSYS IcePak.
• Experience in electronics packaging and PCB design.
• Experience building and operating high vacuum systems.
• Experience designing for vacuum or large temperature swing environments.
