Applied Scientist II - GenAI/LLM, Translation Services (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA; based in the Seattle office

Salary: $142,800–$193,200 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement scalable machine learning solutions for language translation challenges in e-commerce.
• Apply LLM expertise to improve translation accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and develop recommendations that improve seller and customer experiences.
• Evaluate state-of-the-art modeling techniques and methodologies for translation systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define requirements, metrics, and deliverables.
• Communicate technical concepts and solution impact to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
• PhD, or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience in computer science, computer engineering, machine learning, or a related field.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
• Must be based in the Seattle office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unix/Linux and professional software development.
• Research experience, patents, or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience with algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.
