Machine Learning Scientist II (Ads Science)

Location: Must be based in, or plan to relocate to, Boston, MA. Hybrid schedule: onsite in Boston office Tuesday–Thursday, remote Monday and Friday.

Salary: USD 176,000–184,250 annual base pay (plus equity, bonuses and benefits depending on the position).

• Design, build, deploy and refine large-scale machine learning models and algorithmic decision-making systems
• Work cross-functionally with commercial stakeholders to scope analytical solutions for business problems
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and ML platform teams to deploy scalable ML services
• Build robust monitoring, alerting and edge-case handling mechanisms
• Identify new opportunities and insights from data, including projected ROI of model improvements

• 0–1 years of experience with a PhD, or 3+ years of industry experience with an MSc/BSc in STEM (engineering, computer science, economics, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python or another high-level programming language
• Strong theoretical understanding and hands-on expertise deploying ML solutions into production
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize conclusions for non-experts
• Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning

• Experience with the Python ML ecosystem (numpy, pandas, sklearn, XGBoost) and/or Apache Spark (Spark SQL, MLlib)
• Familiarity with GCP (or AWS, Azure), ML frameworks, and orchestration tools (Airflow, Kubeflow, MLFlow)
