Assembly Test Implementation Engineer (Fusion Energy)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite 5 days per week during assembly operations. Possible alternating first- or second-shift assignments and occasional off-normal work hours are required.

Salary: $90,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Prepare, execute, and close SPARC tokamak assembly test activities.
• Plan test instructions and procedures by scouting field assets and reviewing test scope, risks, and requirements.
• Perform pre-test walkdowns, custom test-equipment builds, mock-up testing, and technician training activities.
• Provide engineering direction and troubleshoot procedural or field execution issues.
• Validate preliminary test outcomes, communicate PASS, FAIL, or UNCERTAIN results, and approve required test reports.
• Reinforce safe, disciplined test execution, support demobilization, and capture lessons learned for future activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of equivalent engineering experience.
• Previous testing experience involving hazards and high-voltage electrical testing.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam or Acrobat, and 3D modeling programs.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week and work in an industrial facility with heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of typing, standing, stooping, climbing, or sitting.
