Associate Director, Product Operations & Production (Hardware and Software)

Location: Hybrid position working from the Arlington, Virginia office; manufacturing activities may take place at the Dayton, Ohio site or with contract manufacturers.

Salary: $185,000–$235,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own end-to-end order-to-delivery execution, including materials, builds, testing, certifications, shipping, schedules, risks, and fulfillment playbooks.
• Lead manufacturing transfer from prototype through production ramp, including build plans, work instructions, test procedures, first-article inspection, and yield improvement.
• Manage supply chain forecasting, long-lead electronic components, inventory, contract manufacturers, PCB vendors, and component suppliers.
• Implement and manage PLM as the source of truth for BOMs, revisions, change control, serialization, and delivery tracking.
• Oversee hardware and software certification, compliance, release, delivery, and operational processes.
• Lead the product operations team and budget while reporting delivery, cost, and quality metrics to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing, NPI, production, or product operations for electronics or complex software systems.
• 3+ years of experience leading people or cross-functional programs.
• Strong project or program management experience with end-to-end product delivery against committed dates.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing transfer, supply chain management, electronic-component forecasting, PLM, and budget management.
• Willingness and eligibility to receive a government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ATOs, FIPS 140-3, CSfC, or similar certification and authorization processes.
• Experience with software product operations, release management, delivery, and compliance.
• Experience building operations from scratch in a startup or scale-up environment.
