TL;DR
Network & Security Engineer (Fortinet) (Network Security): Operating and improving highly available network and security infrastructure for a private and sovereign multi-cloud platform with an accent on Fortinet technologies, firewall operations, network segmentation, and secure connectivity. Focus on troubleshooting complex data-center environments, implementing automation with Ansible/AWX, and maintaining high-availability network and security services.
Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do
- Operate and troubleshoot data-center network and network-security infrastructure for a highly available private and sovereign cloud platform across two data centers.
- Maintain FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch infrastructure, FortiWeb WAF, VPN solutions, and FortiClient/ZTNA components.
- Implement firewall policies, NAT, routing, VLANs, VDOMs, network segmentation, and customer connectivity requirements.
- Analyze incidents and performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support end-to-end troubleshooting with infrastructure teams.
- Monitor availability, performance, and security events while handling upgrades, configuration management, backup and recovery, and capacity management.
- Support network automation with Ansible/AWX and improve network architecture, operational procedures, and security controls according to BSI requirements.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting enterprise networks.
- Practical experience with FortiGate/FortiOS and FortiSwitch; experience with FortiWeb, FortiClient/ZTNA, and Fortinet VPN solutions is relevant.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, VLANs, routing, NAT, firewall technologies, IPSec VPN, and high-availability architectures.
- Experience with LACP/MC-LAG, STP/RSTP/MSTP, BGP, VRRP, incident management, change management, and problem management in production environments.
- Basic Linux administration, scripting, network-security knowledge, and experience with automation, preferably Ansible/AWX.
- Remote work is restricted to candidates working from Hungary.
Nice to have
- Advanced FortiWeb/WAF and FortiClient/ZTNA experience.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, IPv6, Cisco SD-WAN, Prometheus/Grafana, BSI/IT-Grundschutz, or SAFe.
