Senior Research Scientist, Quantum Error Correction

What you will do

• Design and implement quantum algorithms and workflows focused on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing.
• Identify architectural bottlenecks in real quantum computers and develop efficient, reliable solutions.
• Design and optimize decoders, compilation schemes, computation architectures, and logical operation methods.
• Apply control theory, optimization, machine learning, computer science, and data analysis to quantum technology challenges.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to translate scientific advances into production-quality software and product solutions.
• Publish research, present at leading conferences, and communicate technical work clearly to expert and general audiences.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Industry or postdoctoral experience in quantum error correction; PhD graduates with a proven QEC research record are also considered.
• Expertise in leading QEC codes, including surface codes and qLDPC codes.
• Expertise in decoders, compilation, or quantum computation architectures.
• Strong research record demonstrated through publications or presentations at respected journals or conferences.
• Experience developing scientific experiment software using Python and open-source packages such as Qiskit, NumPy, NetworkX, SciPy, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust or C++.
• Background in control theory, optimization, machine learning, or data analysis.
• Familiarity with error suppression techniques, Qiskit or Cirq circuit execution, FPGAs or ASICs, and quantum hardware.
• Exceptional scientific communication skills or experience winning contracts and grants.
