Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid model with 3 days a week in the office

hirify.global develops digital banking products including personal and business accounts, savings, investments, pensions, credit cards, payments, and financial services for UK customers.

What you will do

• Build and support backend services for a part of hirify.global’s in-house banking platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, mobile and web engineers, data analysts, researchers, marketers, writers, and other disciplines.
• Develop customer-focused products across banking, payments, platform, security, financial crime, wealth, borrowing, and other business areas.
• Design and operate distributed systems and resilient software.
• Work with application services, persistent data storage, asynchronous messaging, service orchestration, RPC, and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
• Experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
• Interest in distributed systems and resilient software.
• Product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
• Comfort working collaboratively in an ambiguous environment.
• Availability to work from Barcelona with 3 days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Envoy Proxy, AWS, GCP, or React; prior knowledge is not required and onboarding is provided.
• Experience contributing to open source software.
