HPC Linux Software Engineer

Location: On-site in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. US citizenship, an active TS/SCI clearance, and an adjudicated CI Polygraph are required before starting.

Salary: $70–$118 per hour in base pay.

What you will do

• Support HPC users with modeling and simulation workflows, applications, and graphical user interfaces.
• Diagnose Linux system, software, and end-user issues in an on-site laboratory environment.
• Develop, debug, maintain, and test modeling and simulation software across heterogeneous, multi-platform environments.
• Write and maintain software in Fortran, C, and/or C++, plus Bash and Korn shell scripts.
• Support requirements, design, coding, documentation, testing, configuration management, and code reviews for scalable distributed Linux applications.
• Mentor engineers and scientists, coordinate technical work with customers and research staff, and deliver workshops or onboarding materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 10 years of professional experience.
• Approximately five years of experience with modeling and simulation software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments.
• Strong HPC, Linux, Fortran, C and/or C++, Bash, and Korn shell skills.
• Experience with debugging, maintaining existing codebases, unit testing, coding standards, configuration management, and scalable distributed applications.
• Experience mentoring technical staff, conducting code reviews, providing technical guidance, and creating training materials.
• US citizenship, an active TS/SCI clearance, and an adjudicated CI Polygraph are required prior to start.
