Quality Inspector, CMM (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. Onsite role involving dimensional inspection of aerospace hardware; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Hourly pay: $33–$48 per hour, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Perform dimensional inspections of complex machined and fabricated aerospace hardware using CMMs and conventional precision equipment.
• Develop, execute, and improve CMM inspection programs and inspection strategies.
• Complete first article, receiving, in-process, and final dimensional inspections.
• Inspect large structures and assemblies using laser trackers and other portable metrology equipment.
• Analyze inspection results and provide dimensional feedback to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier inspection capability, review FAIRs and reports, maintain inspection records and calibration status, and train inspectors and technicians.

Requirements

• 5+ years of dimensional inspection or metrology experience in aerospace, precision machining, or similar manufacturing.
• Strong CMM inspection experience and proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components and independently interpreting complex engineering drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• CMM programming experience with PolyWorks, Calypso, PC-DMIS, or similar software.
• Laser tracker experience and experience with large aerospace structures.
• AS9102 FAIR experience.
• Experience supporting supplier qualification or source inspection.
