Product Owner (AI/ML)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates in the Washington, DC Metro Area are strongly preferred. Occasional onsite meetings are required at the client site in Washington, DC. U.S. residency, U.S. work authorization, U.S. citizenship, and all work performed in the U.S. are required. Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for three full years out of the last five years.

Salary: $81,499–$138,549 annually.

What you will do

• Own contractor-side backlog readiness for an assigned delivery domain.
• Translate approved needs into features, user stories, requirements, and testable acceptance criteria.
• Lead discovery, stakeholder clarification, backlog refinement, dependency identification, decision tracking, and sprint-ready story preparation.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, governance, quality, and customer-facing stakeholders.
• Document work products, decisions, risks, and delivery evidence to support traceability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and authorization to work in the U.S. are required.
• All work must be performed from within the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in product management, business administration, information systems, computer science, data analytics, data science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of relevant experience; a master’s degree may substitute for two years.
• Experience with Agile product management, requirements analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, stakeholder facilitation, and dependency management.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud, data, analytics, AI/ML, or enterprise platform modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse architectures, data engineering, data governance, enterprise analytics, and data warehouse modernization.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Power BI, Collibra EDC, or Immuta.
• Familiarity with predictive analytics, MLOps, NLP, retrieval-augmented generation, generative AI, and responsible AI.
• Experience in federal government, healthcare, regulated environments, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe teams.
