Principal Industrial Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Clinton, Pennsylvania, United States. The role requires time in the office, manufacturing floor, cleanroom, warehouse, utility, and equipment installation environments, with 25–40% travel to manufacturing sites, vendors, and equipment suppliers.

Salary: $103,600–$176,400 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain plant, production line, workstation, and space utilization layouts for equipment installations, line moves, capacity expansions, transfers, and improvement projects.
• Create process flow maps, value stream maps, material flow analyses, and future-state designs to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve space, staffing, equipment utilization, and material movement.
• Coordinate manufacturing utility requirements including compressed air, electrical, vacuum, water, drainage, HVAC, exhaust, and cleanroom infrastructure.
• Lead cross-functional reviews with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Automation, Supply Chain, and external vendors.
• Support time studies, capacity analyses, labor studies, line balancing, takt time analysis, workstation optimization, commissioning, qualification, validation, and production readiness.
• Maintain technical documentation and support change control while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience, including facilities planning, plant layout design, process optimization, and production support.
• Experience with plant and line layouts, workstation design, material flow diagrams, process flow maps, equipment installations, line moves, capacity expansions, and facility modifications.
• Experience with CAD or facility layout tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, or equivalent software.
• Experience in controlled manufacturing environments involving equipment qualification, process validation, change control, and quality systems.
• Ability to coordinate multiple facility, utility, manufacturing, and cross-functional projects and communicate project risks, decisions, and recommendations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, line balancing, waste reduction, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, or equivalent planning tools.
