Senior Java Voice Engineer (CX Platform)

What you will do

• Design and develop programmable voice services, APIs, and call-control capabilities for enterprise communications platforms.
• Build and extend voice infrastructure with FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and related technologies.
• Develop Java and Spring Boot backend services, communication APIs, call routing, session management, media handling, and carrier integrations.
• Design highly available and scalable systems for large volumes of real-time communications traffic and troubleshoot signaling, media, telephony, and call-quality issues.
• Integrate voice services with contact center, CRM, identity, reporting, routing, and digital engagement platforms.
• Define non-functional requirements, review designs and code, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with clients, Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Security, Operations, and vendors.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of architecture and technical delivery for distributed applications.
• Deep hands-on expertise with FreeSWITCH and/or Kamailio, including call control, dial plans, media services, ESL, modules, and platform customization.
• Expert-level Java and Spring Boot experience with microservices, REST APIs, persistence, security, testing, and performance engineering.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, WebRTC, session control, media handling, telephony troubleshooting, API-first design, event-driven architecture, messaging, and cloud-native engineering.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases, contact center or CX platforms, data modeling, integration flows, and transactional design.
• Excellent English communication skills required, including clear technical documentation and client-facing workshops.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenSIPS, Asterisk, Twilio, SignalWire, or comparable communications platforms.
• Experience building routing engines, IVR platforms, voice bots, or omnichannel engagement services.
• Experience with Genesys, NICE, Five9, Amazon Connect, Cisco, Avaya, or comparable contact center platforms.
• Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Jenkins, observability platforms, API gateways, and security architecture.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions.
