Lead Architect (AI)

Salary: $169,400–$279,600 annual base salary

What you will do

• Define architectural principles, standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks for enterprise AI platforms and AI-enabled products.
• Guide decisions on AI platforms, cloud providers, model hosting, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, infrastructure, and build-versus-buy strategies.
• Lead architecture reviews covering system design, scalability, resiliency, interoperability, security, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Architect production-grade AI/ML, Generative AI, Agentic AI, autonomous-agent, multi-agent, RAG, memory, and tool-calling solutions.
• Align AI platform capabilities with business needs, including LLM selection and routing, reusable integration patterns, and responsible AI practices.
• Consult with architecture and business leaders, communicate complex AI concepts, build consensus, and mentor architecture teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 7 additional years of architecture or software engineering experience, including 2 years of technical leadership experience; the broader profile calls for 8–10 years of architecture experience.
• Hands-on expertise in AI/ML development and deployment, Generative AI, LLMs, transformer architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and multimodal systems.
• Experience with MLOps, AI Ops, CI/CD, distributed processing, RAG, vector databases, API integration, memory systems, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks and protocols such as MCP and Agent2Agent, plus cloud AI services including AWS Bedrock AgentCore.
• Knowledge of AI ethics, bias mitigation, model risk management, AI governance, EU AI Act, GDPR, and insurance technology or the insurance industry.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Foundry, Agent 365, or GCP/Gemini AI.
• Insurance technology experience.
