What you will do

• Monitor and analyze security alerts, endpoint detections, and event data to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform initial triage, investigation, documentation, and escalation of suspected security incidents.
• Use enterprise cybersecurity tools to investigate detections, review endpoint activity, and support containment and remediation.
• Assist with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cybersecurity tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments during incident response and security investigations.
• Maintain case notes, incident records, reports, audit documentation, and vulnerability mitigation records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Entry-level experience, typically 0–2 years; two or more years of IT support, systems administration, or network operations experience are required.
• At least one relevant certification, such as Network+, A+, Certified Ethical Hacker, or SANS level 100 coursework.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, network security methodologies, cybersecurity and privacy principles, threats, vulnerabilities, audit techniques, and logging.
• Knowledge of modern communication-network architectures, cybersecurity technologies, and common cybersecurity frameworks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in a security operations center, security monitoring, incident response, or a similar cybersecurity environment.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise security platforms, SIEM, EDR, ticketing, and incident tracking tools.
• Additional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
