Summer Internship 2027: Resilient Navigation at Kongsberg Discovery - Seatex (Robotics)

Location: Trondheim, Norway

Period: June to August 2027

A global technology group developing maritime sensors, hydroacoustic positioning, sonar and mapping systems, robotic vessels, communications systems, and autonomous navigation technologies.

What you will do

• Work on resilient navigation for vessels and autonomous systems in challenging environments.
• Develop software and algorithms for GNSS-denied navigation and inertial solutions.
• Contribute to sensor fusion, situational awareness, and data-driven insights.
• Apply machine learning and simulation to real-world maritime systems.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers on technologies used in real-world operations.

Requirements

• Current student with academic or extracurricular experience relevant to the internship.
• Interest or skills in software development, physics and mathematics, electronics design, control systems and cybernetics, robotics, simulation, or machine learning.
• Genuine interest in advanced sensing, navigation, autonomy, and maritime technologies.
• Employment may require clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through the Civil Aviation Authority, or a background check.
