Senior Product Engineer 23 months FTC (Life Sciences)

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom. Full-time role with 10% overnight travel within the assigned territory or locations.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of assigned Lab Filtration product families across performance, design, manufacturing capability, compliance, and lifecycle decisions.
• Lead complex design changes, supplier changes, product transfers, sustaining programmes, and technical workstreams.
• Direct verification, validation, product characterisation, qualification, design review, and technical risk-management activities.
• Resolve significant product, manufacturing, quality, and customer issues through advanced root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve quality, cost, capacity, reliability, manufacturability, and customer outcomes while mentoring colleagues and influencing engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Substantial experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, product development, or regulated manufacturing, including ownership of complex technical deliverables.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects or engineering workstreams involving design change, product transfer, supplier change, validation, or product lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of design control, verification and validation, technical risk management, engineering change control, and structured root-cause analysis.
• Ability to influence cross-functional decisions and communicate technical recommendations to Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and other stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel approximately 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience in filtration, life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, biotechnology, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with supplier qualification, global manufacturing transfer, or business-continuity engineering.
• Working knowledge of quality and regulatory frameworks for healthcare, life-science, or medical-device products.
