Tech Lead - Game Framework (iGaming)

What you will do

• Set and document the technical direction for the shared game framework, including the rendering engine, slot mechanics, templates, player panel, developer tooling, and CI checks.
• Design and evolve versioned shared packages with clear APIs, backward compatibility, deprecation paths, and migration notes.
• Build tooling for producing game variants and reskins safely and efficiently from common game bases.
• Own the code review standard and mentor developers through reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
• Act as the technical contact for game teams and server-side engineers while providing estimates, risk assessments, and technical debt plans.
• Maintain documentation including architecture decisions, standards, and package READMEs.

Requirements

• Expert experience with TypeScript and a PixiJS-class rendering engine, with PixiJS v8 used in the stack.
• Experience in slot or iGaming client development, including server-authoritative outcomes, RTP variants, and certification constraints.
• Experience building and maintaining shared libraries, SDKs, or engines used by multiple teams, including API design, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Experience shipping complex commercial games and solving difficult technical problems.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and cross-device performance optimisation skills.
• Typically 5+ years of game client development experience, including time in a senior technical role.

Nice to have

• Experience with build pipelines and CI, including GitHub Actions.
• Experience with automated game-client testing, including unit, integration, or visual regression testing.
• Experience with monorepos or multi-package setups such as npm workspaces, Lerna, Turborepo, or Nx.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work.
