Group ICT Network & Security Engineer (Network Security)

Location: Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium; short business trips of 5–10 days may be required once or twice per year.

What you will do

• Manage and implement network and security projects from planning and budgeting through deployment and follow-up.
• Provide L2/L3 support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, cloud proxies, load balancers, and related technologies.
• Install and configure Cisco switches, wireless infrastructure, and equipment in data centres, offices, and factories.
• Coordinate with the global WAN provider, network and security architects, regional teams, local IT, and other infrastructure specialists.
• Maintain technical documentation, monitoring systems, computer rooms, cabling standards, and network/security designs.
• Participate in a 24/7 standby team for critical incidents approximately once every eight weeks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in LAN/WAN or security.
• Practical knowledge of SD-WAN, firewalls, cloud proxy, Cisco wired and wireless technologies, TCP/IP, and OSI layers 1–7.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across switching, routing, wireless, and firewalls.
• Experience managing network and security projects, with an independent, hands-on, and proactive approach.
• Dutch, French, and English speaking, with the main focus on English.
• Ability to communicate effectively, understand business needs, and work under pressure.

Nice to have

• Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cisco Nexus, F5 load balancers, Palo Alto or Sophos firewalls.
• Azure network fundamentals, wireless standards, and monitoring systems such as NetFlow, SNMP, syslog, and real-time alerts.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto, or F5.
