Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Reliability Automation

Location: EMEA - Croatia - Offsite/Home; the role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.

Salary: €38,000–€55,000 annual base salary for Croatia-based roles; offers may exceed this range based on experience and geographic location. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead reliability automation projects from problem definition and design through delivery, adoption, and measurable impact.
• Build shared automation, tooling, and platform services for reliable, scalable, and operable production systems.
• Automate SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, alerting, monitoring, logging, tracing, incident response, diagnostics, and runbook execution.
• Develop self-healing, auto-remediation, deployment-safety, and service-recovery capabilities.
• Design resilience testing, chaos engineering, Gameday, and disaster recovery tooling.
• Own the reliability of team services, participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, and convert incident findings into durable engineering fixes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering skills, including API and service design, testing, code review, and production software delivery.
• Practical knowledge of SLOs, SLIs, observability, incident response, and toil reduction.
• Experience with a public cloud platform such as AWS or Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages, with the ability to drive projects independently across team boundaries.

Nice to have

• Experience with self-healing, auto-remediation, event-driven automation, internal platforms, or developer tooling.
• Experience with AI-assisted operational tooling, containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with observability and incident management platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty, incident.io, or FireHydrant.
• Experience automating Gamedays, chaos experiments, disaster recovery exercises, and resilience testing.
