Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer – API & Agile Experience (COBOL/API/Agile): Developing and optimizing high-performance COBOL applications on mainframe platforms with an accent on API integration, reliability, and security. Location: Lisbon, Portugal — hybrid work model. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reliable, high-performance COBOL applications on mainframe platforms.
- Design and implement APIs integrating legacy and modern systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile development cycles and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and minimize system downtime.
- Document technical solutions, support best practices, and contribute to ongoing system enhancements.
- Engage with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions while maintaining security and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of COBOL development experience on mainframe systems.
- Strong knowledge of API design and integration techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
- English at communicative level and French at proficient level, both written and spoken.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Existing legal right to work in the European Union.
Nice to have
- Certification in Agile practices or related frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and continuous integration environments.
