Head of Data Engineering (Web3)

Location: Remote from Serbia; access to hubs in Dubai, Yerevan, London, and Belgrade.

The Open Platform develops Web3 infrastructure and consumer-facing products in Telegram, including wallets, developer resources, SDKs, APIs, marketplaces, and ecosystem applications.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and scale the Data Engineering team, including hiring, performance management, and technical development.
• Define the long-term data platform strategy and architecture across DWH, ingestion, transformation, streaming, and serving layers.
• Apply AI and LLMs to pipeline development, data quality, anomaly detection, schema management, and internal natural-language data tools.
• Own marketing data infrastructure for attribution, segmentation, campaign optimization, and real-time growth analytics.
• Build low-latency streaming infrastructure for trading, payments, and risk-critical workloads.
• Establish standards for data quality, lineage, observability, SLAs, governance, and self-service access.

Requirements

• More than 6 years of experience and a proven record of building and managing robust DWH architectures.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams of engineers and analysts.
• Deep knowledge of ClickHouse, dbt, and modern data engineering practices.
• Understanding of marketing technology and experience automating analytics to support growth.
• Practical interest in applying AI and LLMs to analytical and operational workflows.
• Experience in or strong interest in the Crypto/FinTech industry.
