Senior Software Engineer, iOS (AI)

Location: 100% remote within the United States, with an optional hybrid schedule for candidates in the El Dorado Hills, California, or Chicago, Illinois metro areas. Qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain secure native iOS applications and features using Swift.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions across the iOS codebase, including modernization of Objective-C components.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, authentication flows, distributed services, and secure data storage.
• Optimize performance, responsiveness, memory usage, battery efficiency, and runtime reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and backend engineering teams through requirements, implementation, code reviews, testing, and release validation.
• Support App Store releases, beta testing, technical documentation, and AI-assisted coding, debugging, testing, and research.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional iOS software development experience.
• Strong production experience with Swift, working knowledge of Objective-C, and experience shipping large or complex applications to the Apple App Store.
• Strong understanding of iOS architecture, lifecycle, concurrency, state management, performance, memory management, debugging, and profiling.
• Experience with backend APIs, distributed services, automated testing, CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Git workflows, and code review.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including effective prompting for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with cybersecurity, identity, password management, encryption, key management, secure storage, cryptographic APIs, Keychain Services, Secure Enclave, biometrics, or passkeys.
• Experience with Swift Concurrency, async/await, SwiftUI, UIKit, beta iOS APIs, and new Apple platform capabilities.
• Familiarity with mobile accessibility, performance, and reliability best practices.
