Staff Software Engineer, iOS (Medical Imaging)

Location: Remote role for candidates authorized to work in the United States; the position is based in NYC for compensation purposes.

Salary: $165,000–$180,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build native iOS applications that improve the ultrasound user experience.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, Android and iOS engineers, clinical professionals, and imaging teams to define and deliver medical imaging features.
• Write high-quality, efficient, and well-tested Swift code using SwiftUI, UIKit, reactive programming, and GraphQL.
• Work in a complex codebase with internal Swift packages maintained by iOS, device software, imaging, and AI teams.
• Integrate features involving deep learning, telemedicine, cloud systems, and Butterfly iQ devices.
• Mentor engineers and help evolve software architecture and team processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional native iOS application development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Swift, reactive framework design patterns, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
• Experience with XCTest unit testing and knowledge of UI automation.
• Track record of professional achievement, problem-solving, and meaningful product development.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Immigration sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, TN, O-1, L-1, or green card sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex application structures, internal libraries, and Objective-C bridging layers.
• Swift Package Manager and package creation experience.
• Knowledge of graphics rendering and image processing, including OpenGL or Vulkan.
• Python or C++ experience for collaboration with device software and imaging teams.
