Senior Systems Architect (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite at the San Jose Great Oaks Headquarters

Salary: $177,400–$236,500 per year

What you will do

• Define architecture standards and reference designs for enterprise compute, virtualization, operating systems, containers, and server infrastructure.
• Lead infrastructure automation and platform-engineering initiatives using Infrastructure as Code, reusable modules, testing, source control, and CI/CD practices.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, compliance, vulnerability remediation, monitoring integration, and infrastructure retirement.
• Design compute integration with enterprise storage and networking, including hypervisor networking, connectivity, resiliency, performance, and capacity.
• Evaluate technologies through proof-of-concepts, benchmarking, technical assessments, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, modernization, migration, lifecycle, and technology-refresh initiatives while mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive enterprise infrastructure engineering, architecture, or closely related experience with substantial production responsibility.
• Deep experience with enterprise virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V, VMware, Nutanix AHV, KVM, or comparable technologies.
• Strong enterprise experience with Windows Server, Linux, containers, orchestration platforms, and server hardware.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, APIs, or comparable technologies.
• Experience applying Infrastructure as Code, source control, CI/CD, configuration management, or similar software-engineering practices to infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of storage, networking, troubleshooting, architecture standards, and production implementation.

Nice to have

• Nutanix, KVM, HCI, software-defined infrastructure, Kubernetes, Azure Arc, Azure Local, or hybrid infrastructure experience.
• GitOps, AI-assisted engineering, agentic automation, observability, ITSM, CMDB, Redfish, REST APIs, or hardware-management automation experience.
• Experience with large-scale platform migrations, technology refresh programs, data center infrastructure, manufacturing, semiconductor, or high-performance engineering environments.
