TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Medtech): Designing and improving manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, validation activities, and production procedures for chemical processing and manual assembly operations with an accent on equipment reliability, product quality, and regulatory compliance. Focus on troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues, implementing Lean continuous improvements, and leading process validation and engineering change initiatives.

Location: Mystic, Connecticut, United States; five-day onsite work model

Salary: $102,400–$153,600 per year

What you will do

  • Design manufacturing processes, production layouts, equipment arrangements, operating sequences, and procedures for assembly, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Support chemical processing and manual assembly operations through equipment troubleshooting, corrective actions, and performance inspections.
  • Lead and support process improvements, equipment qualifications, process validations, and manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Develop processes suitable for statistical process control and incorporate inspection and testing requirements into production plans.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Facilities, Maintenance, and EHS teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, yield, and cost performance.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable regulations and maintain related documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with no required experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a production environment and troubleshooting equipment, processes, or production issues.
  • Experience with equipment qualifications, process validations, engineering changes, or manufacturing process improvements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional manufacturing, quality, maintenance, facilities, planning, or EHS teams.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is offered only for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP, Agile, PLM, or equivalent manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, technicians, or manufacturing personnel.
  • For degrees earned outside the United States, a qualification meeting 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
