Financial Operations Analyst (Automotive): Reviewing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and committed spend for compliance with U.S. GAAP, accounting policy, and budget controls with an accent on procure-to-pay governance, forecast-versus-actuals analysis, and month-end close support. Focus on analyzing SAP and procurement data, resolving coding and compliance issues, cleaning up open POs, and reporting spend and compliance metrics to Finance leadership.

Base salary range: The posting does not provide an exact amount. Compensation may also include Amazon RSUs, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and a possible sign-on bonus.

Zoox's Finance Operations team consolidates financial planning inputs, reports forecast and actual performance, and governs purchasing and spending controls.
What you will do
- Review purchase requisitions and purchase orders for compliance with U.S. GAAP, accounting policy, budget, and forecast models.
- Analyze forecast versus actuals during monthly and quarterly closes and escalate discrepancies to FP&A leads.
- Review contracts and agreements to determine appropriate requisition structure, coding, and capitalization treatment.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, G&A, FP&A, Accounting, and budget owners to resolve incomplete or non-compliant requests.
- Own open purchase order aging, cleanup, closure of stale POs, and reconciliation with requesters.
- Build committed-spend trackers and report turnaround time, coding errors, policy exceptions, and budget performance to Finance leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative field.
- At least 2 years of experience in finance operations, procurement, accounting, or FP&A.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, especially expense classification and capitalization.
- Hands-on experience with a major ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, plus procurement software such as Ariba or Coupa.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and analysis of large datasets.
- Strong communication, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to explain accounting policy to non-finance stakeholders.

- Public accounting or Big Four experience.
- Experience in a high-growth startup, public company, manufacturing, or fulfillment accounting environment.
- Experience supporting procure-to-pay implementations or accounting policy rollouts.
