Solutions Engineer – Systems Integration (BESS)

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States. The role includes approximately 25% travel to factories, laboratories, and project sites.

Salary: $94,000–$112,625 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Support systems engineering for BESS products from requirements definition through deployment and operation.
• Develop and maintain system requirements, interface control documents, specifications, compliance matrices, and integration documentation.
• Integrate energy storage, power conversion, safety, controls, communications, and balance-of-system components.
• Review electrical and controls designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and technical submittals.
• Support prototype builds, verification and certification testing, manufacturing transition, commissioning, and system-level validation.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, communications, and system-level issues while coordinating corrective actions with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience in BESS, renewable energy, power systems, controls, product development, systems integration, or complex electromechanical equipment.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, controls, communications, power electronics, and system interfaces.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Experience with engineering analysis, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, technical documentation, requirements management, verification, or configuration control.
• Willingness to travel to factories and project sites approximately 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage, solar, or renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with BESS and electrical safety standards, including UL 9540, UL 9540A, NFPA standards, IFC, IEC standards, and applicable electrical codes.
• Hands-on experience with battery, electrical, controls, networking, or data-acquisition test equipment.
• Experience with equipment manufacturers, system integrators, engineering firms, laboratories, construction teams, or operations personnel.
• Experience with requirements, issue-tracking, document-control, configuration-management, or 2D/3D CAD tools.
