Registered Nurse-Day Surgery Part Time Days

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and update plans of care, and document patient responses.
• Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, including discharge planning and referrals.
• Provide patient and family education on medications, clinical conditions, discharge instructions, and available patient resources.
• Administer medications safely, monitor patients, complete handoffs, and maintain a safe care environment.
• Lead or support patient care technicians, precept staff and students, and coordinate unit care when assigned.
• Participate in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development.

Requirements

• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; an ADN is accepted with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• Ability to follow the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, organizational policies, and applicable regulatory standards.

Nice to have

• National certification in the area of specialty.
