Summer Internship: Aerospace Modeling & Simulation

Location: Herndon, Virginia, supporting customers in the greater Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C./Maryland area. Must be a U.S. Person and at minimum a U.S. citizen for this position.

What you will do

• Perform high-fidelity modeling and simulation of satellites, aircraft, and ISR sensor suites.
• Instantiate complex vignettes and architect aerospace system and payload studies.
• Conduct short-term studies and long-term analysis for government and commercial customers.
• Develop tools for data analysis and identify patterns in large datasets using charts and graphs.
• Perform detailed QA/QC checks of simulation inputs and results.
• Present analytical results to senior-level decision-makers and customers.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; the position requires U.S. Person eligibility.
• Be at least a rising sophomore pursuing a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related field.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Work effectively both independently and in team environments.

Nice to have

• Coursework in astrodynamics, remote sensing, spacecraft design, aerospace systems operations, computational fluid dynamics, machine learning, or complex systems integration.
• Ability to develop standalone engineering tools and scripts using Python, MATLAB, and Excel.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing complex mathematical algorithms.
