Principal Robotics Engineer

Location: Irving, Texas (Dallas); onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $147,760–$240,110 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship autonomy components across perception, planning, control, and learning.
• Take robotics work from prototypes through production deployment on real hardware.
• Contribute across the full autonomy stack while applying deep expertise in a specialty area.
• Participate in robotics software test review, analysis, witnessing, and certification.
• Deploy and evaluate software on real off-road machines and customer job sites.

Requirements

• Typically 10+ years of related engineering experience.
• Production-quality C++ and Python programming skills.
• Experience with ROS or a similar framework in real robotics systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: AI, motion planning, perception, controls, or SLAM.
• Full-lifecycle product experience taking robotics systems from idea to production.
• Ability to work onsite full-time at the Irving, Texas office five days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with field robotics or autonomous vehicles, especially off-road systems.
• Learning-based control or perception, foundation models, or VLA-style models.
• Simulation and on-vehicle deployment experience.
• MLOps and training-infrastructure experience.
