CAE Engineer - Safety Occupant (Automotive)

Zoox is developing fully autonomous vehicles and the supporting mobility ecosystem, combining robotics, machine learning, and vehicle engineering for urban transportation.

What you will do

• Support vehicle-level safety targets and the overall vehicle safety strategy.
• Own occupant safety CAE activities and balance them with other vehicle integration attributes.
• Set up vehicle, dummy, and restraint models and coordinate model builds.
• Support virtual and physical correlation, structural analysis, and virtual design verification plans.
• Propose countermeasure design solutions and prepare virtual analysis engineering reports.
• Support project gateway report-outs and lead small teams and weekly cadence meetings.

Requirements

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in virtual occupant safety development using LS-Dyna.
• Experience with FMVSS, USNCAP, IIHS, ECE, EU legal, and consumer safety protocols.
• Experience with BetaCAE, Oasys, LS-Dyna, FE dummies, and LS-Opt.
• Basic Python coding experience and strong analytical and communication skills.
