Powertrain Design Manager (Automotive)

Location: Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; approximately 10% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $127,000–$160,000 per year starting pay range for Minnesota.

What you will do

• Lead a team of powertrain layout designers and engineers supporting powertrain projects and processes.
• Identify and manage opportunities to improve product and process quality.
• Coordinate design-staff resources with project teams, architects, and module leads.
• Mentor team members performing stress and strength calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, and 3D-CAD design.
• Guide teams through formal problem-solving methods and maintain high design standards.
• Lead career development, performance reviews, staff meetings, and peer-team mentorship.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with a BS in Engineering.
• 10+ years of engine design experience and professional design and development experience.
• Experience leading multi-person design teams and working with cross-functional partners.
• Experience with GD&T, FMEA, DRBFM, DFM, DFA, and dimensional tolerance stack-ups.
• Familiarity with Creo 3D CAD modeling software.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, presentation, leadership, and people-management skills.
