What you will do
- Design, document, implement, debug, and test AI-enabled software components, including algorithms, knowledge bases, business logic, and LLM/agent integrations.
- Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software using TypeScript or JavaScript, Java, Vue.js or React, and REST APIs.
- Create feature plans and estimates, understand system specifications, and recommend improvements to system-level decisions.
- Support cybersecurity activities and participate in integrated testing with industry partners, academia, customers, and sponsors.
- Produce software, system, and test documentation while supporting project milestones and team initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, project leads, and program managers to accomplish project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or degree in progress in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
- General understanding of LLM-powered application development, including prompt and context engineering, agentic workflows, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, and model evaluation.
- Proficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript, Java, Vue.js or React, and REST APIs.
- Experience designing, integrating, evaluating, and debugging complex LLM-powered systems, with the ability to solve challenging technical problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to travel for technical presentations, testing, and integration.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense personnel security clearance.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree or software development experience in a similar scope, program, or environment.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, HuggingFace, LLM inference servers, multimodal LLMs, multi-agent systems, or complex adaptive systems.
- Experience with C++, C#, SQL, DevOps, CI/CD, GitLab, or Jira.
- Experience supporting defense or aerospace technology projects or active-duty military experience.
- Active U.S. national security clearance.
