Software Engineer, Performance Engineering Optimization (Robotics)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office

Base salary: $116,000–$174,000 per year, plus annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and contribute to tooling that collects and processes large volumes of performance data from vehicles and simulations.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and processing systems that ingest and transform data into a warehouse.
• Support performance visualization, analysis, experimentation, and data-driven feedback loops.
• Develop tools to discover and diagnose software and hardware performance problems.
• Collaborate with autonomy, sensing, and vehicle platform infrastructure engineers on optimization efforts.

Requirements

• Programming and software design skills in C++ or Python.
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines and statistical and machine learning methods for data analysis.
• Experience with Linux fundamentals.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in robotics, computer science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience.
• Ability to work from the Mountain View office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cloud storage and cloud-based data pipelines.
• Experience with data science and data engineering on cloud platforms.
• Understanding of performance optimization for soft real-time systems.
